From the farm
to the injection molding machine
Our story begins on the small farm of Grandma Anna and Grandpa Erwin: cows, pigs, chickens – and a Bernese Mountain Dog as “plant security”. While Grandma Anna lovingly cared for the animals, Grandpa was constantly on the road as a butcher. Then, their son Norbert took a courageous step: the chicken coop gave way to the first injection molding machine. We stored finished parts in plastic bags in the hayloft – at first carrying them over the shoulder up the wooden stairs, later using a crane. Hands-on instead of high-gloss.
The BURK company grew out of this attitude: tackling things, improving, moving forward. Marco’s first office? His father Norbert’s car garage – repurposed because it was about finding solutions, not comfort. These roots still shape us today: down-to-earth, inventive, reliable.

Founded by Norbert Burk as a specialist in plastics processing.
Marco Burk, plastics engineer and MBA, follows in his father’s footsteps as Managing Partner.
Relocation of the business premises to Gladenbach, Hesse, into a newly acquired company property.
Construction materials with tile spacers, slab supports, and gravel supports
Technological improvement and diversification of the fastening range for surface heating systems.
Installation of a modern energy concept with a photovoltaic system, an energy-efficient cooling system, and heat recovery.
Cooperation with the Technical University of Dresden (TU Dresden) to develop a biodegradable flame retardant and keratin fiber shreds for reinforcement from feather waste.
Cooperation with the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) as part of the dual study program “Studium Plus”. Expansion of the material supply via a silo system to increase efficiency.
Development of a new thermowelding technology for surface heating fastening systems, which has been registered for a patent. Introduction of a scanner system as part of a digitalization program, as well as the start of electrifying the company vehicle fleet.
BURK Kunststofftechnik is converted into a GmbH. The machinery park is expanded with three energy-efficient ENGEL injection molding machines. Introduction of a height-adjustable pedestal support system with an integrated measuring scale and bayonet quick-release fastener (patented).
Marco Pfaff joins as a member of the management board, and Jannis Achenbach receives commercial power of attorney (Prokura). Purchase of an additional property at Industriestraße 1 in Gladenbach for business expansion.
